Weight Loss Quick Fixes
Did you miss out on that hot bikini body that everyone wanted to get for summer? Are you just going to segue right into losing enough weight to fit into a hot-looking Halloween costume for your office party? And then what will it be? Losing the weight you put on at Thanksgiving so you can eat the Christmas cookies, which will make you resolve to lose weight for your New Year’s resolution? After that, it won’t be long before it’s spring and time to start thinking about swim suit season again, right? This is no way to think about weight loss.
Losing weight is not about jumping from reason to reason and season to season. It should be something that you do over time for permanent weight loss, not just stopgap dieting that you stick with for awhile and then abandon until you notice how fat you look in that vacation photo when you put it up on Flickr. Maybe it’s time to stop, step back, and really think about your weight problem.
Losing and gaining weight is almost as bad as staying overweight. It takes a toll on your body that gets worse with every starvation diet you go on. And every time you lose and then regain weight, more of the weight comes back. It would make much more sense to get really serious about permanent weight loss, rather than just losing a few pounds for a special occasion, knowing full-well that you’re probably going to gain them all back.
When you’re very young, you might be able to get away with this for a short time, but as you get older, it gets harder and harder to shed weight, and easier and easier to gain it. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that you’re setting yourself up for many health problems if you don’t get your weight under control once and for all, while you still can.
Even if you’ve failed at diets before, there are sensible, healthy weight loss plans that are designed for the long haul, not for just a little while. They’ll not only help you get into that little black dress you’ve been dying to fit into, they’ll also help you get out of the shadow of high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems.
Once you start looking at weight control as something that is a series of life choices, you’ll realize that the most important choice is when you decide that you’re ready to commit to getting healthy – for life – not just for a special event. After all, when you conquer your weight problem, life can be special every day. Stop looking for a quick dieting fix and you’ll be able to start losing inches and pounds forever.
